COMMERCIALS

I actually hate all of them but some really bug me.

  • The Subaru one with the crashed car, where they keep saying everyone lived.  Now I love Subie’s but this one brings back horrible memories of when my son rolled my new car multiple time and ended up in a water filled ditch. When I went to the car trash lot to see if I could recover anything that was the first question I was asked, really creepy.  Car died, son fine (seat belts and air bag).
  • Cadillac one with the give talking about American values and how hard we work comparing us to Europe, I will not bother to list all the stupid things about it.  It’s just wrong.
  • Cereal..we have a major obesity problem in the US and these are just candy for breakfast.  What happened to non sugar-coated shredded wheat cereal or any non sugar-coated cereal.  What happened to regular oatmeal, my favorite.
  • Fast food that compare themselves to real food.  Exactly what is Alaskan white fish.  Whitefish (fisheries term), a fisheries term referring to the flesh of many types of fish.  So do you really know what’s in that FRIED fish sandwich you just bought.

THE AMERICAN PEOPLE DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN….

  • Democratic Government: is by the people; a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system.   WE REALLY DON’T HAVE THIS.
  • Autocracy: a form of government in which a country is ruled by a person or group with total power.  THIS IS MORE AND MORE HOW THE US IS BEING RUN, NOT BY THE PEOPLE BUT BY THE EXTREMELY WEALTHY WHO GETS OFFICIALS ELECTED BY SUPER PACs.  CASE IN POINT, CORPORATIONS ARE NOW PEOPLE…SUPREME COURT RULING
  • Parliamentary Government: a system of government having the real executive power vested in a cabinet composed of members of the legislature who are individually and collectively responsible to the legislature
  • Socialism:   any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of good.   THIS IS HOW THE US MILITARY IS RUN AND  SPORTS LEAGUES (YES FOOTBALL)

  FOOD WE EAT

  • We don’t find out for twenty years or so that the food (fresh, frozen and canned) has really bad stuff in it that causes cancer, birth defects etc.
  • GMO’s not allowed in most of Europe but fine for us.  Clue, something might not be healthy for us.  Remember DDT.
  • Food in Europe taste better!!!!!

EVOLUTION VS CREATIONISM

  • Yes, you can believe in both but the people who reject evolution when there is fact vs just belief, I just don’t get this.
  • People are becoming dumber for rejecting science and it shows in US test scores compared to the rest of the world.

US SCHOOL SYSTEM

  • We have removed music and art education in most schools, why supposedly it takes time from real education, really, really.  I can’t say anything more because  might have a stroke.
  • Removing cursive writing from schools. Why?
  • Removing Physical Education.  Why?  Because we have more obese children than ever and that’s a good thing.  Back in the dark ages when I was in school we had it, in Elementary each day of the week was set up for a specific activity, Monday and Tuesday sport of the season, Wednesday was dance, variety, Thursday gymnastics, Friday was free day to do what ever you wanted from the 4 prior days, Public School.  Middle School changed by term. Senior High general PE, Sport or those of us (me included) who took advanced PE which was really tough.

TV THE DRUG FOR SLEEP…


There a few shows I really like but I never see the end because I fall asleep.  I quite annoying because I would really like to see the bad guy caught but this is not to be.  I sit down with my tea and the next thing I know is the news coming on, which I guess is good because I know how cold I’ll be tomorrow.  But did they catch the guy on NCIS or NCIS LA or did Sherlock discover “who done it”.  Not like the original Sherlock but I do love Johnny Lee Miller.  Even the comedies put me to sleep, I don’t know why but off I go to nod land.  Best sleeping pill in the world for me.  I actually watch the news and weather , then off to bed.  I love the new show The Blacklist and have managed to keep myself awake for those.  But the rest could some please let me know how they end?

TEXTING AND ME!


My family finally convinced me to join the 21st century and get a phone I could text from so they could know I was okay.  Obviously regular talking doesn’t work anymore, so I caved.  I really loved my indestructible flip phone.  You could drop it 10 times a day and no problem.  Yes I know I could text from it but it to forever to say “Hi, I’m fine love you”.  So got the phone and everyone sent me a text congratulating me and a few obnoxious comments.  Then disaster happened, while washing my hands my sister called and I answered with a wet hand and the phone slipped and hit the counter.  Damn thing quit working for calls but I could text so I sent a text to my sister telling her what happened  and she said take it apart and make sure there is no water in it (this did not happen with my old reliable flip phone). So after taking it apart and checking for water (none) it would not do anything.  I spent 4 hours on the phone with phone company in various parts of the country and finally got someone who knew what she was talking about, problem solving was in the works and she said she would call on house phone tomorrow and tell me what  needed to do. (Yes, I still have a house phone for local calls and calling my daughter in Ireland).  So I put the damn phone back together and it started working,  I wanted to SCREAM.

LIFE SUCKS SOMETIMES


I keep trying to plan a trip to visit family in England and Ireland and life keeps getting in the way.  I had surgery on both eyes, which was supposed to simple, with a quick recovery.  The first went great, 3 weeks later I had the second and not so great.  Which messed up my trip.  So I have to postpone the trip, which then interferes with other scheduled appointments.  So, I have to reschedule the appointments which the physicians hate. 

So, what’s the point of this post?  I want to whine….which is so uninteresting to anyone but me.  But I really don’t care today.  Today I really can’t stand non-whiners because I want to be a whiner. Right now I should be on my trip but here Is sit at the computer typing away and I can barely see the words.

I also want to be a better blogger..like the ones I read.  Not happening.  So I really need advice about how to blog….anyone?  HELP!!!!!!!

And my Aunt is dying.  She’s not really my aunt, she’s my father’s cousin but I always called her Aunt.  One of the good people in the world!   I want to make it better for my cousins but I can’t, they already lost their father, 2 brothers and a sister.  So I feel a bit guilty about my petty problem.   My Dad says everyone dies but it’s tearing him apart, he adores her.  All I can do is tell him I love him.  His way of  coping is to tell me he plans on dying by being shot by someones husband while he’s in bed with the wife.  I told him “sounds like a good plan”.  You’d really like my Dad!!!!!!
